Over time, wrinkles and fine lines start developing as a result of the activity of our facial muscles. As muscles contract, the superficial layers of skin and soft tissues create creases and folds. Some of the most common areas for treatment are the forehead, in between your brows, and in the crow’s feet around the eyes. We understand that those lines are an important way to express your emotions, your character and ultimately who you are.

How do wrinkle reducers work?
Our products of choice are Botox® (by Allergan, USA) and Bocouture® (by Merz Pharma, Germany), which brands of botulinum licensed for facial aesthetics in the UK. When botulinum is injected into muscle fibres, the motor neural pathway to create a muscular contraction is reduced, allowing the muscles to relax. When injecting, Marco will assess the action of both agonist muscles (that produce a contraction and create movement) and antagonist muscles (that create a co-contraction which is opposite to the agonist action). This fine balance between muscles creates harmonic and diverse facial expression. It is vital to understand this interaction in order to create flattering and natural-looking results.
What should I expect during my treatment session?
During your initial session, you will have an opportunity to share your concerns with Marco and show which areas you would like to see some improvements and definition in. You and Marco will go through a full assessment which will include your medical and allergy history and whether you are currently taking any medications. Marco will continue by physically assessing your facial muscles to gain an understanding on how they contract and interact with each other to create movement. After taking some portrait photos, you will discuss the areas identified for treatment and how our wrinkle reducers will help achieve a more refreshed and rested look. As you relax on our medical couch, Marco will disinfect your skin, apply some markings and start the treatment.
Once the treatment is completed, Marco will assess your skin and give you some post-treatment advice, including avoiding any exposure to sun or heat, and limiting the amount of exercise. You will also be taught some facial exercises to encourage quicker recovery and excellent results.
Does it hurt?
In a scale between 0, no pain, and 10, worst pain ever felt, facial injectables usually fall between 2 and 4, which is a minimal to mild discomfort for most people. Marco will offer you the opportunity to apply some topical anaesthetic cream before your session which aims to reduce any discomfort. You will also get the chance to use our pain-modulating pen while receiving treatment, which interacts with the pain receptors in the area to divert or stop their transmission.
When will I see results?
You will see results within 10 to 14 days of treatment. After the second week, you will get in touch with Marco for a follow-up consultation to assess how you have responded to treatment.
I am worried I will look frozen or unnatural.

How long do wrinkle reducers last?
Wrinkle reducing treatments last approximately 3 to 4 months, after which you are recommended to schedule a new treatment session with Marco.
